Post by XxLuieLinesxX »

I have the '93 MX-3 with the 4cl 1.6L engine, i just got it and the car has alot of miles. I was hoping if you guys could tell me what would be the best engine swap for my car, i heard that the BPT 1.8L gets some good horsepower. what engine should i get?where can i get it?how much?what else do i need in order to do the swap?and is it hard to do?any information would be apreciated
thanks

click the link in my sig... the bill is about 3k usd. I have a breif write up on the swap into my 93'RS. Once its all running smoothly I'll add some more details, but it should be enough to give you a good idea.
P.S. if you dont put the pro.lx/escort GT tranny in the car WILL junk it self in a very short amount of time.
[ August 02, 2003: Message edited by: RiceRocket666 ]

the swap is one thing, "proper" engine management and tuning is another.

i think i'm gonna go with that BPT 1.8L, for $3,800(less in USD) it aint too bad, another question is, do i have to change my transmission since i have the stock automatic transmission?but defenetly let me know who your car turns out..good luck

you can get the gtx motor from www.corksport.com the tranny needs to be from a 90-94 protege lx or a 91-96 ford escort gt. you will also need the drive shafts and flywheel from the escort/protege.
