Ground wires

Post by mazdasport »

Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of how to hook up a ground wire kit...and if anyone has one - how good is it? Have you noticed any differences?

Mazda only installed 2 or 3 grounds under the hood. You are better off going to a stereo shop and picking up some 4 guage wire and some gold ring connectors. Good points to ground are from the alternator bracket to - terminal, MAF to - terminal, block to - terminal, and tranny to - terminal. Should help a little with the electrical surge and poor idle. Don't waste your money on one of these "kits", do it yourself and it will be much better.

i put 4 new grounds: one on my tranny, one on my maf, one on my intake manifold, and one on the block. it did help the idle stay a little bit more steady. but it really didn't do that much that i can tell...i guess it couldn't really hurt though , god knows the factory grounds are terrible... 92' 1.6L sohc auto :throwup:

@hondah8er13
Did you replace the old stock ground wires,
or you put new with different attach point?

i bought the autoexe ground wires for the fc from corksport (mostly for show and name brand) and i replaced two ground wires and just added other grounding points. the one i remember replacing was from the PS fender to the engine block. i replaced another but i forgot which it was.
