I bought one of those filters on ebay. It did give me some increase in HP. It doesn't improve acceleration, but it helps to lower the RPM's at high speeds. For example instead of 3000 RPM @ 60 mph it's 2500 @ 60 mph. I thought it was worth the $12 I payed for it. I'm thinking of converting it into a homemade cold air intake
[ May 18, 2003: Message edited by: MikeX-3 ]

I think they are washable, although for only $12 it would probably be easier to buy a new one if yours got dirty (which usually takes several years).

i bought the same 'blitz-style' also.. it flows more than the PAPER, but hp increases im not sure.
it is soo much better than the other generic filters. when my friend comes back from vacation and i get money, i'll try to get dyno-tested.

Cleaning is easy....Go to the carwash, the do it yourself kind. Take the filter off and hold it in your hand. Put the sprayer on high pressure wash and put your money in. Then move to an open area with it, place the filer on the end of the washing gun so it rests there on the area where the water comes out, aim upward and PULL!!!! :) Sorry im wondering the name thing but somehow i got a visual in my head of shooting my own filter in the air with a high pressure washer :D

which under normal driving conditions could be every couple years or more. Of course that depends on where you live, say if you live where there is a lot of dust, or in the desert, then it would be more often. LOL
