what do you mean "look out for"? You mean problems or what kind of specs it has?
The 95 DX has a 1.5 liter 92hp motor that has ZERO aftermarket support. I think it is pretty unfortunate that mazda decided to put this engine in the 2nd gen proteges b/c all of the ownwers I see who own the cars simply can't modify them.
Another problem is the engine bay size. Smaller than the 1st gen protege makes it harder to swap a BPT into the car, although it is still possible.
The good thing about the 95 model year is it does NOT have OBDII (its obd I) which makes swapping engines to it easier on you.
I know a few people doing a BP swap to their 2nd gens at the moment. I'm hoping to drive up and help one of them complete his swap sometime this summer. I like the way the 2nd gens look a LOT, but there is simply a huge lack of aftermarket for me to ever consider buying one.
I like my 93 protege the way it is :( )
