my dads mechanic buddy bought a computer to diagnose problems and stuff with cars, u just hook it up and it tells u, thing is, it cost $8000, if they just made some program that u could put in a laptop, lots of people would get it, anything less than buying the real deal will probly be a waste of your time.

if your car is a 93 then you have OBD-I and you can do it with a paper clip and the CEL light flashes
Are you getting a CEL?

you need to short out the "TEN" and the "GND" then when you turn the key in the on postion the CEL will flash some short fashes the some long flashes that can be translated into a problem
when I find a site I'll post it
