Escort GT motor

how much work is involved to get one of them 1.8s from one of those into a MX-3 with the SOHC 1.6?

same amount of work as putting in a protege lx 1.8.

it should be the same thing as the protege lx except i think the valve cover is different. other than that its the same right??? at least thats what i always thought and heard.

actually its pretty easy i just had this done about a week ago and it cost me about 1000 not including motor but i put in a bunch of new things.........

Did you use the rs ecu or did you change the full electronic of the pro lx? Him asking cause him putting my old pro lx engine in my friend precidia rs this weekend and him planning on using the stock electronic.

Hey I noticed there is quite a few of you guys from ontario here I have a 92 GS and I am gettin a 93 4cyl and I was wondering WHO? and WHAT it would cost to do an engine swap to a better engine perferably turbo...I know nothing of engine swaps or who does them or for how much...so if you can post a few engine swaps with costs here in canada ontario would be greatly appreciated......

mine is coming close to 5,000 for j-spec bp, tranny, labour and lots of parts

Soon i am going to be swapping to a protege lx motor. got the full pwoertrain for 750 usd..

Got a front end clip from a local junk yard.. just call around and be professional. Just look in the phone book.<p>I will be using the protege trany. i will let you know if we encoutner any problems
