Are they interchangeable wityh the 4 cylinder DOHC in my 1995 mx-3. I don't care if I have to make hood mods to make it fit

Re: Miata 1.6 L Parts?
mmmm i think some are (cam gears...). there was some talk about the cam shafts themselves fitting but something about they are reversed (i.e. intake for exhaust). might wanna talk to boosted, maldo, or cjthor.

Re: Miata 1.6 L Parts?
None of them fit?? News to me.
The cams work, just need to be switched ex/in. Cam gears work. Entire short block works just fine. Clutch and flywheel work if you have the BP tranny. Valvetrain works. The solid lifters off the '99 NB head will work on the B6 head.
About the only thing that doesn't work is the bare head and manifolds.

Re: Miata 1.6 L Parts?
everything in my engine is from a miata,
carillo rods
wiseco pistons
copper headgasket
all engine seals
arp main studs
arp head studs
and the rumor of having to switch the cams is definatly wrong too. the miata 1.6 has an exhaust driven sensor and the dohc mx3 1.6 distributor is exhaust driven too.
DRAG SPEC MX3 BEING PARTED OUT.

You only have to switch cams on the B6T head. If you look at a miata head, the CAS is on the right side of the rear of the head (exhaust cam). Rotate 90* and you have the B6ZE in the MX-3.

Re: Miata 1.6 L Parts?
Whole engine can go in as well. Motor mounts need to be changed and the coolant inlet on the head has to be capped off since you will want to use the mx-3 water pump. Same motor.

Re: Miata 1.6 L Parts?
Same as with the 1.6L. The head has different coolant passages but it can be used, although the intake manifold can't be. Water pump is different as well. Other than that everything can be used. The valvetrain from the '99 head is the best as it uses solid lifters, not HLAs.
(don't yell, we can hear just fine
