Finaly some one has answered my question!! I have been wondering how to put on a high flow filter and get rid of the ugly air box! <P>to the best of my knowledge nobody makes intakes for mx-3's (or any thing else preformance wise) but they make everything for hondas, thats why its all the more cooler when someone sees a boss mazda next to a honda cause they have seen the hondas before. what are some other mods you guys did with out taking apart the engine?

what do you think the differences between the metal or the plastic intake pipe or isit just for the looks. isnt the plastic pipe is lighter and doesnt conduct more heat than metal.

Hey I can tell you one thing. Performance speaking that was better with the old air box on. Cause you're aspiring HOT air now. Bring it some fresh air from outside if you want to have more power with that. Made my own ram air intake with a hole in the bumper and a custom pipe that brings fresh air and yeah it gives more oumph.... with great sound when you're accelerating

actually i noticed a difference with the new intake and btw no one makes an intake for my car the 1.6 sohc. and as for the filter on top it is for the vacume line (high flow) something different that looks better than that stupid hose lol

You can also take the pipe from a 92 civic kit and angle it down from the air flow sensor. You just have to cut some off the end but you can put the filter down by the inside of your bumper. It's as close to the cold air as I can get. You may want to consider a bypass also with it set up like this.
