grunting while steering

Well last week I hit a few pot holes, really hard, the wheel alignment was totally off. Soon later I find the front of my car creating grunting noises when I turn the steering wheel... but left and right when I turn, it produces a grunting noise and also it gives you this slight vibration on the steering wheel. Some people tell me its the wheel bearing.... what do you think?
