question about intake hose

alright guys.....
I had a hose that used to go into the stock airbox. When i put the old cone filter on......i drilled a hole into and put a connector on the inside and attached the hose too it. Now I just put on my new filter, and I can't put a hole in it to do the same thing.
I followed the hose back around the intake manifold, where it connected to 3 metal rails that went back around to the fuel rail somewhere...... Now, my question is......would it be ok to leave that hose just hanging, or should I plug it up, or should I find a way to put it into the intake somehow???
Any help would be great!

Check the vaccum diagram, most cars usually have one located unnder the hood or in the engine bay, unless its been wrecked the stickers still should be there. Then again i havnet looked to see if my car has those stickers ;)
Although after digging threw my chilton book (dont buy it hayes is much better cause this book is very unnspecific) i belive it actaully runns to the egr. (if its the one i think your talking about) although not critical i would atleast do something about it. Granted theplug on the stock airbox it plugs into breaks off and yours islike mine right now.. it jsut hangs there.

The vacume hose you are refering too does run to the egr valve and its function is to equalize the pressure with the atmosphere. (I am assuming that this happens when you turn the engine off)
I would recommend either drilling a hole into the rear of your new intake and mounting it there or making yourself a tiny foam filter for it. It is important not to leave this hose unfiltered as the dirty air which is sucked in will eventually cause you egr valve to fail.

what exactly does the EGR valve do?? I don't know about that one.
Since the change of intake filters, my car has all of a sudden started to rev at stoplights on me again. I fixed this once by adjusting the idle screw....
I have noticed that it only does it when I'm in neutral, coming to a stop...foot on the brake. As soon as I release the brake after coming to a complete stop, it stops revving itself....
