I talked to a shop about doing it and itd be like 1,500 to bore it out to a 1.7. if it does get bored out how does that effect the streangth of the engine??
thanx in advance

1,500 to bore out .1 L
that's seems insane. anyone else agree? that extra .1L won't do much.
as for reinforcing the engine, you could get different valve springs, retainers, pistons, and a number of other things, depending on what your planning on doing?

do not bore out your block. the mx block is about as big as you can go without compromising the blocks integrity. the block itself is very strong, but what you can do is replace the bottom end, valve train, and put in a metal head gasket.....or get a motor swap and build on that.

The only way to increase displacement is a stroker kit for a miata from toda

quote:
Originally posted by cre8v mx3:
do not bore out your block. the mx block is about as big as you can go without compromising the blocks integrity. the block itself is very strong, but what you can do is replace the bottom end, valve train, and put in a metal head gasket.....or get a motor swap and build on that.
