catalytic converter

Post by azmtbkr81 »

I have a '94 RS and I am haveing a custom catback exhaust put on soon. The part of Arizona where my car is registered doesn not require that cars have a cat. I am wondering if it would be worth it to have my cat removed and replaced with straight tubing while I am having the exhasut work done. Will this give me much added power? Is there really any reason to keep the cat on besides to pass emmission tests in some states?
'94 Blaze Red RS<P>I may not have a lot of horsepower but I know how to use it!

Federal Law requires Cat. Converters, you may not have an emissions test, better to spend teh money for a straight pipe on a new intake or upgraded suspension.
