Changing the bulbs in the tail lights... HOW?

Post by Shades »

How in the world do I get my tail lights off?... I must be the most stupid guy in the world.
Also, those custom tail lights like Barry Clark has are those illegal? Anyone from BC or Canada know? I mean you're not really obstructing the light from reaching the other drives, I don't think.

it's only illegal if you cover certain parts of the tail lamp like covering the reverse light (the white one) is illegal...also, if you do what barry did, you should make sure your taillights can be seen 50 feet away. and you leave the colors of the lights in white, red, or amber. if you follow those rules, it's all legal.

well yea i know that. but i made my taillights all red except for the reverse white light...the cop noticed it used to be amber...and gave me a ticket for tampering with my taillights and changing the stock lens color...but most vehicles have red as the stock turn lens color.

to get the tail lights out...
1. pop the hatch and use a phillips screwdriver to unscrew one screw on top then two more.
2. once these are out just pull on the thick part of the tail light out and sorta to the outside of the vehicle... give it a little pressure and it should just pop out.
3. next untwist the dead bulb and replace it
brake light: 27/8Wx4 (1157)
turn signal/backup: 27Wx2 (1156)
Oh yeah thats for the 92... im pretty sure its the same for your 96

[ May 10, 2002: Message edited by: mattster ]

Sweet, thanks. I'll do that tomorrow... that's what I sorta tried to do, but it just seemed that it didn't wanna budge.
