Air-con blues ...

My air-con only comes on when the fan is set to 3 or 4. Off, 1 and 2 are all off ... this aint too bad 'cept for the blasting noise I hafta put up with. 
<P>From what little I've seen of the air-con control it's a big mechanical switch. Anyone have any ideas how to fix or replace one of these ? (If it's a replace job, I know I'm gonna have a hard time finding one in NI).<P><BR>Cheers.
