ok so my HEI dilemma has been having me ripping my hair out but it was on my mx-6, im a member on mx-6.com but i barley go on there because most if not all of my questions get answered here ( cars are VERY similar)

well any way today on the MX-3 i wired up my external coil and hei EXACTLY like i did the MX-6 and everything is running great if not better then it was before in the MX-3  :welder: which leads me to believe that there are other things wrong with the 6 even though before the external coil and hei the mx-6 wouldnt even start

just a question...as long as the blaster 3 coil and flamethrower hei is functioning do i ever have to worry about the disty?

anyway just some pics for you guys about my grounding and placement of the HEI and external coil...Does everything look kosher?

Image

Image

I mounted the HEI on the bracket that holds the engine fuses....Im sure its grounded because its bolted to the chassis? and do you think it provides enough of a heat sink.......
Image

i can take more pics if needed

Do you have to be super careful when bolting these down? I've never bought "nice" lugnuts before, my regular beat up old ones make the idea daunting to me...

That Corksport brace looks good, I think I'll be investing in a set for front and back. I was within an inch of buying the MS front brace of Rupewrecht yesterday, but common sense kicked in and I realised I'd be buying it more for the brand than anything else. 300 quid is too much for a brace  Do you know what the difference is between the type I and type II Corksport brace?

the type one is real skinny like the stuff u get from ebay and the II is way thicker and they ends were the connect to the struts are more solid just like the MS front bar but for front and rear....and about the same weight also yeah i only want to buy the MS one for the brand name  im kind of a loser like that...but if u ever put a ZE or DE in your 3 the corksport would be cheaper and u dont have to modify anything like add more nuts to make the bar sit higher or switch manifolds or whatever it is i may have to do if i get the MS front bar.....

According to the CS website it looks like you got the type 1... the type 2 is wider and matches the MS style. Also, the MS front bar is the only one that can clear the Millenia IM without modification of the IM itself (or extra pieces for the strut bar) and even then it requires extra washers for spacers. The CS bar goes over the middle where the MS goes over the front...
