Don't worry, his is painted black to cover bad machining
Seriously, though. Your car is great. In my head I'm saying that in an Irish accent (Gree-at), endind like it's a question, where the tone goes up on the last word :) I have a good fake accent.
Sorry the coilpacks didn't work. I am very jealous of your center console!

Have you started yet? It's not THAT bad! Drilling out ring gear is fun...

lol it does look black in that photo, yet it isn't at all! Megajizz is now back in Florida getting a good testing from Andy soon, I hope :) Yes haha with the pigs&speed cameras around here I could do with that.

Thanks man :) Hoods off ebay, someone imported it for lots of £££, then sold mx-3 before even using it! Cheap enough too :)

Update time!

I bought the SRD rear tie bar and crossmember, second hand but never installed :) I have to say they haven't made a huge difference but it's nice to remove rusty parts for aluminium alloy that will not rust :)

Sh*t Machine plus SRD parts:

Rear Tie bar:

I also took delivery of my Mfactory helical limited slip differential :D

Porn:

To minimise downtime I got a good deal on Jon's gearbox and after some internal debate decided to DIY the job!

Image

Once I got the OEM open differential out I had to drill out the rivets to retrieve the ring gear which I need to bolt to my LSD:

SATAN:

I also grabbed a cheap/semi rare OEM wrap around spoiler. I'm not sure about it, kinda stealthy rx7 look about it:

I'm now waiting on some parts for the gearbox before I take the LSD to a machine shop to get the carrier bearings pressed. While I'm at it I'm installing a taller 5th gear which will drop the revs 3-400 for cruising :) And new axle seals, housing, primary/secondary shaft locknuts etc.

For the installation of the gearbox I'm going to take the engine out and do some maintenance like gaskets and a good clean :)

Make sure when you install the new diff that you set the backlash on the pinion gear. You will need to do some shimming on the carrier bearings. I have a G25M-R manual somewhere that says what the values are supposed to be. Any driveline shop can supply the shims.

And the wrap around spoiler is SEX!

Caed Mille Failte (Thanks) for all the pictures. I'm a little afraid to do mine. Your pics, and tutorials will give me the strength I need to press on :) Please let us know about the shims, and details.
