First remove all of the old stock intake, pretty straight foward.
You will come across a black mitsubishi logoed piece of plastic on the lower part of the airbox unbolt it and leave it hang somewhere safe or attach. Also you will have a black hose coming from the upper part of the airbox this will attatch into the smaller hole on the intake if you don't have another hole then just plug it.

see I was wondering about the part with the mitsu symbol on it, I thought it was something previous owner just had laying around and used to cap off the line.

over here in Australia we have fog lights so just wondering if you guys think it's worth taking it out and enlarging that hole & using the hole in my bumper for a CAI for the klze on the way..

Is It worth doing ? do the gains justify losing the fog lights ?
I don't use them much.
It would help a bit wouldn't it ?

I think it'd still be worth it, especially since you can completely isolate the air from the warm bay... It may not have the minor boost effect some claim to gain, but it would certainly allow for "cold" air to come in. Granted, I would want to detach it on rainy days myself, and close the holes

Hello fellow mx3ers! I don't want to steal Hoodzy's how to but I also found another good intake source for any new mx3 guys with the v6/curve neck klze guys! I was reading up on this and I've just swapped my k8 for a ms8! I wanted to get a cold air intake in as well but I didn't want to do any cutting with intakes and I just happened to have an extra cold air for the v6 mx6/probe/626(manual trans only) since my brother's auto could only use a short ram intake. I followed Hoodzy's how to for everything else but the intake worked itself into the same place! I hope my picture comes out so you can all see it! I hope the intake can help others as Hoodzy's how to helped me find a good place to put the intake!

So you just bought this intake for a MX6/probe and it went right in with no cutting at all?

Yes that is it! It's probably the cheapest set and you get everything that you need to fit the manifold and vaf correctly so you don't have to spend more money for other things besides making your own bracket for the coolant overflow. You do everything the same way as Hoodzys says but this intake is an exact fit for the curve neck millenia/klze. Not sure how it will fit for the k8 but someone else can give it a try. I'm just letting everyone else know what worked for me. I know people said, mustang intakes also worked but they are like $50 plus and you have to do some cutting. This mx6/626/probe v6 intake fits perfect!

Just bought this jetstream intake from PRM..holes and cracks in it. What do you guys think?

DAMN! I would call them and have them replace that, a little surprised that got sent to you...

Funny how their customer service just dropped off the face of the earth. He was very prompt on the weekend when we arranged payment. Now he's MIA.

Good to know i'm not crazy in thinking that its BS to receive a weld job like that.

How do you think it would affect the performance, the holes are after the MAF, so from what i understand unmetered air would enter and cause the engine to run lean?

They're sending me a new one. Gerry @ PRM was nice about it ..admitted he was new at welding. Apparently he was on vaca. So all in all PRM seems alright.

New to welding, damn. lol It is better then me still I guess, anyway that's good to hear.
