I tested the panel in the car! I haven't had time to cut out my tweeter spot or repaint the black. Had to see how it looked though and I say it looks pretty good. :]

haha thanks man , its no where near pro quality , but its my ride and I am happy with my home done results. The fabric, the glue got thick and messed up one spot but I'm not that worried about it. Where the fabric wrinkled from the curves i cut a line and glued one side over the other. If you really wanna see the quality of it, I have no problem showing you. I'm happy with it so you cant hurt my feelings :D

Today I got off work early :D Right away I wanted to get some work done knowing I had a good time span to get stuff done!

I got my fabric and did the other panel, didn't take any pictures of the progress because it is just the other side flipped lol. Here is how it looks in the car. I'm very happy with the results seeing as how the cars interior was close to nothing but bare metal when I got it. Shows how far the car has already come.

Image

After I got all that finished A friend stopped by and helped me remove the spoiler off the car. The bolts to remove it, one was rusted into a ball. Another was rusted to the point where barley trying to turn it stripped it completely. The two back ones were rusted and broken off... The main point in me wanting to remove it is that i want a wrap around spoiler and this one was barley holding on and could move in place.

So i started the process to getting it off from the top.

Image

To show how much I enjoyed removing this really thick block of fiberglass. I tested how strong it really was.

Image

To finish off this update, the end product. I still have to fix the metal that dented up from removing it. At the moment I have some black tar like clay sealing the holes.

Thanks mang, If you need help with something I'll try my best to get you informed or if you want pictures of something just let me know. The stuff I have fabricated is not perfect , don't let the pictures fool you. I had close to 0% experience with fabric in any way before this project. So I like the outcome and I am glad you do to.

The bondo process went pretty good. Its a little thick but the door was sanded to bare metal before I started. I tryed slamming the door pretty hard and its not going anywhere. This pic is from yesterday after I did the first layer.

Image

Here is how thick it is, sorry I didn't take a picture of it from the side I completely forgot about the log haha.

Image

After that was finished I started removing all the little rust spots on the roof.

Image

Right now I put some spray paint black over all the spots to protect the bare metal until I order a new paint gun. When I do the painting I will be standing it all down the the bare metal. There is already to much paint on it haha. The last owner also put to pretty thick coats on it that are not smooth at all.

If you look in that picture you should be able to see where i re-bondo-ed the spot where the antina use to be.

Alright a little update. I was teaching my friend "RichardR" how to drive stick today and my little mx-3 got a battle scar from it. Its not to bad, he did pretty good for his first time using a 5-speed. I was getting him to do a 3 point turn in reverse and he backed up into a bush.

AND here is the results. If anyone has a idea on how i could pop it out please let me know.

Remove the trunk plastic and go at it with a slide hammer and a price of something soft to go between.

Butt of your hand might do it too.
