Re: _-Night-Shade-_'s Worklog
Hey guys finally got an update for you. Sorry it took so long, it was hard to find time between full-time school, work, and just other things in life. Still on my list is the curved neck IM and the probinator chip before I can start the swap. But I'm gonna leave that till it's closer to spring anyways. So yeah, I got started today!
Here is the workspace:
You can see the ZE in the corner chilling.
Got the car lifted up, ready to work on:
I finally found out what that exhaust leak I had for the past half a year was! Lmfaooooo
Hahah, I'll have some more updates later this week for you guys! Cheers.

Hahaha bro I'm renting the garage for the winter, don't have my own I've got 2 jack stands under the rear subframe and 2 under the front one. All safe points. Also used the trailing arm housings to jack up the rear end. Safe.93SOHC wrote:sweet collection of action figures u got on the shelf there, lol. Is it really safe to have the car jacked up like that? Re: _-Night-Shade-_'s 1994 GS - Winter build finally started!
So I just finished stripping the KLZE a bit: the IM is off and the valve covers are off and also prepped the car a bit more. I was gonna take some pics when I realized I forgot to bring the mounting piece for my tripod... pictures tomorrow I promise!
@ Jesse: the exhaust tone was awesome - deep and V8 sounding at low RPMs, but like an F1 at the higher ones. Except it rattled because it's pretty much broken off at that point so it's like 2 seperate pieces and they'd rattle against each other, pissed me off driving around like that But I'm pretty sure it will still sound badass once it's fixed - it's the Magnaflows afterall =P

Pics:
MX-3 stripped down a little bit:
KL-ZE stripped down a little bit:
Yes I know it's a little brown but hopefully that will wash away with a couple of oil changes of synthetic. I don't really care about that as long as everything works, and so far it's looking good. The things I couldn't check for when I bought this thing are the valves and pistons/rods. The valves are looking good but I won't be able to check the pistons - I'll have to find out the hard way if something's wrong with them

Seems to be okay, the cams look good, little to no wear. Consider a kerosene flush or seafoam maybe to get that gunk outa there
