I bet you're running rich.

Now there could be various reasons for that. Your ECU, for example.

What year is your bro's Probe? Is he running the same ECU/VAF combo?

Well, let's see. Same motor. Allegedly same ECU/VAF. Same amount of coolant sensors, yeh, and they're all functioning? What about EGR? No codes?

Injectors clean and spraying efficiently?

If setups are the same and you're getting worse mileage, then you're likely running richer, so you're getting less power and wasting more fuel.

Yea, pretty much the same.. The only thing I can think is that he has his passenger side VRIS closed as it is not functioning right. I can outpull him though in a race.

Vtek.. Thats nuts, I got 400km or so last night all highway just as the light came on..

Whats your setup?

I got a letter from the man about my driving techniques, I'm on my 9th demerit thanks to trying to make a yellow.... So lately I've been shifting religiously at 1750! Needless to say I'm a traffic nuisance, but my mileage has gone through the roof!!! You got a klze too, mine is the k8ze. I'm now at 611 and still no light!!!

With all other variables the same, I replaced the air filter and got my tire's pressure up to spec and gained close to 5 mpg.

Granted, it was gaining BACK those 5 mpg.

It seems like you are comparing apples to oranges. Sure you have the same engine but you mentioned all the added parts. Things may not be working 100%, depends on maintenance and life of the engine, driving style, weight of vehicle, gear ratios, wheel weights, air in your tires, drag there are so many factors other then having the same engine.

I disagree.

His motor has higher miles and not as clean as mine internally, its heavier, wider tires, same weight rims, same tranny, same psi of air in tires (41 psi) and more drag then a mx3 iirc. We can follow each other on the same road for 300km and both fill up, I would have to put in much more.

He lost his license for the 3rd time. So I am gonna snag his ecu and VAF and see what happens. I will report back

Well, I have no gas light...

Average fuel economy as of this moment is about 10.1L/100km (23.29mpg for you Imperial dogs) with a stock K8 (and I mean completely stock, even stock airbox) with a leaky gas tank...
