i hated that shyt and switch it out....
....Not sure yet
, Have not looked into it yet, still have a long way to go on getting everything done...What did you end up using/doing?
UPDATE with more PICTURES
1. Assembled the shocks/coil-over sleeves; ZX-2/GC's. Also brand new strut top mounts (accidentally threw away the old ones
)
2. Put on my "temp" tail lights (smoked altezzas) until I finish my rx-7/kouki lights
3.Well, after 9 years, the supra-style wing has come off
.....
Will be using a "temp" USA-spec GS wing, until I am ready for paint, and then the CDN-spec wrap around will go on.
4.B&M short-throw-shifter as well as all SRD bushings installed. Also anti-drop bracket.
5. 2 more shots of the engine bay finished paint and cleaned:
6.Full under-body cleaned and undercoated
7.Control arms, spindles and suspension back together. Wytbishop front sway bar endlinks installed.
All new rotors, pad, and calipers will be going on
AND...this picture probably gives it away, with the hacked CV axle poking out, you may have guessed it.................................................................................................
MOTOR and TRANS is IN

More to come...

Decided to "black-house" my Euro-spec glass headlights
The day I got them:
.
.
In-Progress:
.
.
.
Comparison, 1 stock / 1 blacked out
.
Test fit for quick pics:
.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can also see that I semi-blacked out my euro-spec turn signals. I have had my E-spec turns for ~9 years or so, and they were badly discolored. I bought the cheap ebay clear turn signals, and swap the new lenses on.
Comparison:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also worked on making "FC rx-7" style tail lights.
.
Sorry these are dark:
More updates to follow, such as I actually have a 28-spline aka "kia" Tranny
, hybrid VF10/VJ20 turbocharger etc...

OEM BPT exhaust manifold and turbocharger heat shields.
This is the near mint looking VF10 turbocharger (Thanks BuGS!)
.
Install went pretty smooth, Ported the wastegate opening and just some tweaking of some lines and it all bolts on.
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The G-series trans that I bought over a year ago, was advertised as a jdm protege. The cv axles I originally got BP protege ones fit in super loose, so I ordered up some kia sephia axles and everything fits great. So that was a nice surprise
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Started working on some interior projects, as well as Radiator / Intercooler / oil cooler set-up, and soon starting on wiring.

Thanks, work on my mx has been slow going
but I have been trying to do some stuff when i can..
Not sure if I will be using the CF hatch or not.
I am thinking of keeping the car more stock-ish in appearance, and saving all of my CF parts (hatch, hood etc...) for another MX-3 I plan to eventually build someday
(a black gs)

Thanks, I'm trying to go for a more "stock" look this time around, but also doing as much of a full restoration that I can.

never going to sell it! I'm going on 10 years of owning it
Nope, not a mechanic per say, but I help out at a speed shop (rotary specialist) on the weekends. That is also where the work is being done.
sneak peek of the interior:
--Euro vents & big red hazard switch / Miata chrome handles / old headunit (will be replaced) / turbo timer & boost controller / coin tray

Urkman: thank you
Night-shade: Thanks, Yeah, I'm trying to re-do every aspect of the car, so I can enjoy it the way I have always wanted to for another 10 years.
Slow going
but eventually
nd4spdse:
...I wonder where I got the idea from...
Progress has been slow going
, But some more pics to fill the void:
"RX-7" style taillights / GS wing (temporary until wrap around goes on)
JDM driver side door panel / stock panel (Thanks to Nd4SpdSe
)
Power window motors/regulators and door harnesses
grab handle on the driver side door
Eunos front bumper, US front lip, eunos fog light, eunos front tow hook
rear height with 16" wheels, too much gap
Rear side marker covers , I color match painted them
---How they originally come
New exhaust / axleback section that I will make work
Going all stainless steel 2.5" straight pipe
(rear section/tips are 3")
