you might want to check this out then.....

Hey thats really cool, I'd love a white 1/18 scale model of my GS to compliment my Evolution Orange MX5

Many helpful people have actually shown me the disassembly page. It will be my reference manual of sorts.
I didn't see any white MX-3s when I was looking around online. Originally, I thought I'd just buy a white one and paint over it. Then, I realized that I should treat this just as I would a real car. So, then I made the decision to repaint with care.

The car hasn't actually come in yet, but when it does, I will post a picture. If anyone has any questions, comments, advice or concerns, don't hesistate to let me know!

I should probably also note that I only found the car in 1:43 scale. I too wanted the larger 1:18 scale, but I don't believe they make it. So, I figured that any model was better than no model.

These have been available on ebay for quite some time. There are actually 2 different variations with different rims and side skirts and front bumpers according to the specifications of the different cars.
Search in Ebay:
autozam az-3
eunos presso
the run about $50 US

Mine should be coming in some time this week!

I can't wait! I will post pictures as I move along in the process. Of course now it's not an Easter present, so I've renamed it the 'Congratulations on a great semester!' present. I hope he loves it! This should be fun!

Hooray! The car came in today after I went out and picked up the paint from Mazda. The jars of paint definitely look like they are circa 1991.

The tape the seals the jar has been on it for so long that it's discolored the paper label. No harm done. The paint looks just fine. I won't bother to post a picture of the car as it is now, because it's just the red version of what's already on this forum. I will, however, post pictures as I move along in the process.

Just in case anyone here is following this, know that I haven't abandoned the project.

Just waiting for finals to wrap up then to get home to my father's paint booth and airbrush. I'll post pics as I get working. Thanks to anyone who is along for the 'ride'.

Awww, SuperK, that's very sweet of you. Sorry, I'm taken, but I'd be happy to paint one for you after I'm done mine, assuming mine comes out well! I found it online on ebay. It's not done yet, because my work has decided to put me on 40 hour weeks, even though I'm part time. It will get done soon and I will post pictures here of the progress. Thanks for reading and following along with me!
PS: I'm fairly unique.

Ya, it should be awesome. I haven't posted any pics, because all it is at the moment is a slighty disassembled version of what people have already posted. I'll post once it's masked and primed.
