Haha i am not sure if that is what they are called, I just assumed. Anyways, you just chop off a small piece of tube and weld the base of it onto the base of the strut plate. Not sure if it does more for strength, but def looks better. Alot of companies use this technique and style for under carriage bars and supports.

This is the most recent pic I have of his MX-3 which I took back in February 2010 lol, apart from the Mississauga Meet we had in the summer of 2010. It was around the time of the B-Pillar bar GB and you can see them in production in the background.
