That car, despite best efforts, looks like it's a hair away from becoming completely un-streetable. I could pull a 12 second pass in a lightly modded STI and drive it outta the track like nothing ever happened. Oh, and is it just me, or is his exhaust sitting like an inch off the ground. Guess it won't be lowered with those coilovers.

you know, your coming off like a d---! ive worked my a-- off to be different. and most of what i have ive gotten cheeper than most get. plus i do all my own work. the reason my exhaust is 4" off the ground is because i had just gotten done the night before (a--), and i hadnt fabbed up a new exhaust yet at that point, and i was just stoked to get it up and running. plus total, with my new motor i have only dumped in maybe 12K in the past 4 years (that includes a ATX to MTX swap, 2 fseries trans, and a G series swap). plus it only cost me a total of UNDER 1500 bucks for my AWD swap. so before you go spouting off like a d--- think again. plus i dont know too many other 1.6L MX-3's that can beat a 04' Cobra from start to top end.

FYI: a Base model STI is 32.995 USD MSRP. so with the price of my car i paid 4 years ago, plus all my goodies im still 13k less than a Base STI, and im almost as fast.

the whole point of owning the car is knowing your not going to get what you put into it Back out of it. the reason to put all of this in the car, is so im not the same as every Tom, d---, and Harry. Just a question....... Do you know how much it costs to build a race car??? the car is going to be used mostly for AUTOX and some Drag racing. and finally there are alot more people on this forum that have dumped a hell of alot more into their MX-3 than I have.

I hate sheep too!

Ya, hate people with small weiners... that drive AWD MX-3's.....

j/k :P But seriously, mazdubber do you have a brian? I Personally know someone that drives a 12 sec STI and how do you come to say you can Do 12 secs in an sti and not even know it "lightly" modded?? I have watched 3 STis blow stock trannies doing 12 sec pulls, you know why? Cause they max out their trannies, and honestly, Josh has put nowhere near that much into his car. He has probably put more like $10k into his car and his has done so many things to it he didn't have to (cause everything changed when he went AWD) but he learned stuff, and he learned about the car. I don't know why, but my MX-3 is a solid 13 sec car and I have only spent $5k on it, including buying it. So to say stuff like that is crap.
You...I don't know why I should bother responding to you, but I guess I should say something. First of all, yes I do in fact have a brain. Here's the recipe for an easy 12 in a STI. Bigger turbo and open exhaust. To me that is definitely lightly modded. A good tune and it'll run 12's all day. Look up Four Star Motorsports and ask them yourself. Good guys at Four Star, still might have the only 4 wheel Dyno in southern Ontario.

FYI: The STI has been on the market in NA for 3 years, hmm, you think I could get one a bit cheaper then that 33K MSRP? I just used the car as an example, there are many others I don't care to bring up.

Yes I DO know how much it costs to build a race car. In fact, I have BUILT numerous. From Rally and Road Racing cars when I was in highschool to Formula 2000's when I went to the Bridgestone Racing Academy. So I'm not exactly new to this. I must be right about how unstreetable it is if you mention building a race car. I was under the impression that you actually might want to drive this on the streets. Now I know different. I wasn't trying to be as a-- but if it came off that way to you I apologise. But you need to relax and stop taking stuff so personal.
Truthfully, i was taking it personally. as its on my car and what i personally have purchased. and you started the rant off of what i had posted for my ideal suspension setup. sure you can go and buy a car that already performes but thats just too easy, theirs no fun in that, and most will agree. the car is going to be a track car, but it will be driven on the street as well (unless something breaks at the track) :) i know a few Hondas that run a daily driven 500 pluss WHP, one at nearly 700 WHP. total sleepers. thats why i went AWD so the car would be somewhat drivable, outside of the track. FWD is very uncontrolable at high HP. my WHP goals are no where neer thoes numbers as 300 WHP is easly drivable. NOS isnt on all the time.

but this has gone way off of topic, and i urge we stray back onto ideal suspension setups.
