I was with my buddy when he raced the v6 5 speed stang, and it was a 99+
lets just say it romped us, but not badly.. and I know for sure my friends car is running optimum, because whenever we race, I only beat him top end... his car runs awsome...
so I don't know how a sohc auto can beat a stang... newer or older.. unless its a 4 pot 87-93 stang

I dont see why so many people are hating on the 1.6L bacause the 1.8 stock doesnt really offer much better performance by the sounds of it. I just bought a 1.6L a week ago, the way I see it is i get awesome mileage and my insurance isnt crazy. I owned a 1988 Honda prelude 2.0L with an auto tranny and that car flew had it at 210km and yes I did feel the lack of horse power right away, im still adjusting to getting to 100KM on the highway before the on ramp ends lol. My point i guess is MX3s are not considered sports cars but hatch backs, thats why they dont have much horse power, but their pretty quick off the start so if u want some bragging rights take on some cars on your next red light cause they are not intended for drag strips.

They're not. There is more BS in this thread than you could possibly scrape off the ground of a Texas cattle ranch in a year.
My friends v6 automatic F-150 blew me away like I was sitting still, and I had a rolling start. My brothers 3.8 minivan left me like I was in reverse. But people here are keeping up with and/or leaving behind Formula Firebirds. Uh huh. Keep telling people there are things wrong with their cars if they cant do it to. We know better.
This thread is about one "|Thatz SoME mad TyTE driFtin Yo|" quote away from belonging in the local Neon forum.
A 94+ stock integra 5spd vs a mx-3 gs 5spd with equal drivers. The Integra will beat the mx-3 anyday.

i have a SOHC with a 5 speed and it is not fast by anymeans BUT i think it is quick this is why. i have a friend with a 91 Laser turbo and that car is FAST, i have a friend wiht a 84 comaro wiht a 350 in it and thats FAST. now i live in a smaller town and i love to race and i have had my share of wins, like a 95 200SX (sentra) beat it, 89 CRX base kicked its a-- and all the other dumb kids who think there chevy luminas are fast lol. now in the twisties our cars are fast and can take turns better then the CRX and my firends lowered 92 Integra GS. i love my little Green car and even though i have the 1.6 SOHC its still my car and i love it. now at the end of the summer (or sooner depending if i blow it up or not) i will be swaping in the BP and i hope to see huge results over my SOHC MX but no matter what we all have MX-3s and we sholdnt bag on someone who doesnt have the experance some of us may have or the opertunites some of you guys had over some of us wiht the 1.6
thanks for reading what i have to say

well...stock, its pretty slow. A friend of mine had one, and it was awful slow. but he was bored. and decided to boost. So he boosted it and at 15psi (no boost controller) it was a beast. It held the boost pretty well for a stock motor. UNtil the rings went up. It has some potential in the motor definately. Its just a matter of finding it. And seeing that the mx-3 isn really a light car, compared to the other bg vehicles don help it either.
