I have been competing in USACI for 2 years with a stock alt. NO caps!! Did put the largest Dynasty battery I could find under the hood tho. I am running a Lanzar 4000D pulling enough current to blow 350 amp fuses under the hood! It produces 4352 watts at the speakers.
After getting that amp in I have noticed the standing voltage has gone down.
I have a 140amp alt from Chevy Venture w/ rear ac! The lower mounts seem to work fine! But I will have to have an upper support made! And swap pullies! You can go online and find the harness adapter to convert the Mazda plug to Chevy!
Once I get it in, I will post pics for ya!
