Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
a canadian gs spoiler would make this car complete with the full/mini hybrid skirts.....youdirtyfox wrote:Jurys still out on the flaps Bro, maybe once the spoiler is on, dont know if I can handle flaps AND a spoiler..
Evo_Spec thanks you had confirmed my suspicions that is was a little high.
i cant friggin wait to see the outcome, best stance i've seen yet on any mx.
where did you find the skirts?

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Hey thanks cWs306 appreciate it Man!
Motor wise yes I have thought about it alot. Im still sticking to the original plan of turboing the 1600, but seeing as this is my DD I hate the thought of it being off the road too long...
...So the AEM F/IC I have will be wired in first (hopefully in a weekend, next spring ) then I can fit the clutch ( need to buy SPEC stage II+) in a weekend. Then its just a case of bolting on the turbo(IHI VJ-11), injectors , 323 sump, intercooler etc again hopefully all on a weekend ready for mapping on a weekday. This should all happen next year sometime.
Stage II will involve a bigger turbo ( Garrett T3?), larger injectors, oil piston spray bars and electronic boost control, but that's along way off.
For the spoiler mx3matt I really like the ducktail Aaron has made, so I may use that idea but make it a little different but putting some sides on it, to create a sushi / Tea tray style spoiler.
something like this using a wraparound spoiler as a base:

![Image](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/djsonofsam/Rx7IMSAWingA1.jpg)
skirts I found via google on a website called nicedeals![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Me neither, whole car wont be completed for another year or so yet, but my buddys are telling me I need a spoiler soon as it looks like there is something missing off the back of my car
So today spent a quick half hour after work grinding off the welds on the new bottle
with a 40 disc, then paraffin soaked (stops the metal picking up) emery cloth> 60 80 120 320 then finished on a mixture of scotchbrite pad and talo wax then clean clotch. Sorted out the fitent for the pump too just need to make some brackets and fit it on to the original mount holes.
![Image](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/djsonofsam/Photo0209-1-1.jpg)
Once home I decided to fit up all the body bungs I received back from Gulfy so I could remove the bonnet jets, aeriel and boot jet.
Im pleased with them and will do nicely till the day it goes in for paint and can be smoothed over for real

Now enjoying a nice smooth roof line![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

OK, I wasn't sure about you doing the antenna at first but it turned out WAY better than I though it would. Nice work!

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Ah OK thats cool Josh thanks. Not completely happy with it as yet tbh as it's still a little bit proud from certain angles, might need to file it so it sits inside the little recess around the large antenna hole.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
not sure what your asking but i think the answer would be that those are just what we call "mini sides"stangant wrote:youdirtyfox wrote:What are those things on the side skirt? they look like a mud guard type thing... looks like they are not apart of the skirt. I want them very badly.. haha
they're just small side skirts that don't go across the whole side that weren't available on the USDM market.
Marcdh is selling some right now here: http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=78677
