Damn man sorr yto hear that...
On a lighter side, I really like those tires. Especially the little flames in the middle.
I just got myself a set of 01 Miata 16's, and am currently looking for rubber. Whats up with the rubbing in the rear, how bad or where exactly?

That is the tire/wheel combo I want. Except I'm thinking 25ET so I can stuff ridiculous calipers in there...abd I really like the concave spoke look like the EVO's have.
My next build is going to be riDONKulous.

Grip is through the roof, I haven't found the limit yet due to rubbing issues in the rear, but I am currently living out of my car so the hatch is full. I can plant it in 2nd through a sweeper and wheelspin is at an all time low. All around no regrets.
Ummm I don't mean to come off as a a--... But should u use your money not on tires and on place to live... I am sure those tires were a arm and a leg.

I've got the same rims, same offset and everything but I was running 205/45r16 tires instead. I think I might try the size you've got here, the fronts are good and only the rear is rubbing? Might try some rear spacers with it eh?

Oh, lol. Misinterpretation.
I've been living out of my car due to work, not due to life circumstances. I have my own place, plus the lady friends place, plus my mothers place if I had too. I've just been working in odd places far from home...
the rears are irreconcilable. Any closer to the strut and they rub, any further out the chew the bumper and eventually fender. try going for a 215 if possible.

Oh my mistake, good to hear then.
Damn that really sucks, I was hoping to go to 225's in the future. Hope to hear about he 215s and if they work. So the fronts are fine then? Maybe just going with 215 or 205 if they work in the rear might be okay.

Very Very NICE! For me having nice tires is completely worth it. I may go through a set a year but meh who cares.
This is the same size I am running only in 15's same wheel specs and tire sizes otherwise. I am running 5mm spacers to clear the struts. My fenders are rolled and I am sitting a little lower than you are right now. I rub the fender just ever so slightly under heavy cornering on the drivers side only. My camber in the rear is at -1, I drive so much I like to have even wear, to make them last as long as possible. Looks good Ryan, definitely gives it an aggressive stance.

Well guys, if you have a healthy kl and sticky tires... The stock exedy clutch is not enough. I wound it up to 4-5 and dropped it, got a chirp, and then more revs than speed. I don't often clutch drop, I'm an autoxer not a drag racer, so I'm not going to worry about it until the kliata. I had suspected it for awhile at the top of 1st and 2nd but it wasn't apparent until I tried this.

Had a very scary lesson tonight.
Summer tires.... should not be used in cold weather.
I was ultra ultra lucky.
Parking her for winter, do the repairs in spring... Nothing too major. Bend the rad support back (like always eh?) and a new crash bar. Even the paint is O.K. didn't break any glass either. Hood sits a bit funny though. Off to the right.

Seeing your pictures of the wheel/tire setup definitely tells me I will be in the clear... I've been worrying about the rear end, because I haven't located the proper 5 lug setup for the rear, but the fact that you're running my same tire size with higher offset than I am tells me I should be okay.
Thanks Ryan!
I love those wheels by the way, can we say jealous?!!

Well.
I think I'll be leaving the MX game over the next year or so.
Went out and got my summer MX running. Runs great, flooring it made me giggle, but the front end is unsalvagable. My winter chassis is cooked too. I'll be graduating this spring, and the line of work I'm going into means I can't drive a rattly shitbox anymore.
There will be a FS going up over the next few months for some of my more valuable bits, very likely for a steal of a deal. Just want it all gone asap, no nonsense.
-SS MX-3 sills
-wide window visors
-projectors
-clean interior bits like window switch and shift boot
-mini sides
Locally I'll try to get rid of my full exhaust, the motor itself, and the wheels/tires. There's a local guy who I might dump the rest of my misc parts onto. May need a Uhaul for that.
I think I've narrowed my search for a new ride down to a 98 BMW 328is which will likely receive a moderate turbo setup and wheels and stop there. If you have any leads on one, let me know.

Here's what I replaced her with...
Approximately the same peak power-weight ratio, but the BMW makes torque from 1500 RPM wheras the MX was only ballsy over 4k.
The quality of the BMW cockpit is better, but my muscle memory is still for the MX-3 and I miss it sometimes.... The BMW steering wheel is too far away, and overall the car just seems larger than it needs to be.
I'm in the process of learning how to safely drive a RWD fast
