Yeah, I could replace the ECU and do other simple things, but they didn't charge me for that. Now I have to get the shifter fixed. The last incredible garage managed to destroy it and then "fix" it with a random hardware store part and some self-tapping screws. I could have done better than that. Anyway, it shifts now, but it's loose as hell. Then the next stop will be Emissions :freak: . I thought that this little emoticon pretty much says it.

It's running!!!! I'm through emissions!!!!!! Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay! Zippity Doo Da!!!!

Now maybe I'll have a sea breeze! LOL

Thanks a bunch all! It has a KL-36 computer in it and is running well with the stock O2 sensors.

Right now it's back in the shop getting the linkage fixed (was messed up by last garage)
and hopefully getting the cruise control fixed (yep.....messed up by last garage)
then maybe I'll try to get all of the scuffs out of my leather seats (guess where the scuffs came from)

But I'm happy. Wow that engine feels great! Torque out the wazoo, and then some!

Does anybody know the approximate horsepower and torque that I might have at my wheels?

Again, thanks for all of the advice.

Isn't it fun? And I am going to guess leather seat scuffs by... your mom/dad/uncle/brother/cousin/sister/dog!

Thanks SuperK

Yes, the end result is completely worth it! I haven't had a chance to open it up much yet,
because I drove it to emissions with the shift linkage spot welded together and I didn't want that to snap,
but I could just feel that torque. The K8 just had all of those lulls in power just when you thought the car
should burst forward, but now it feels like I could pull a tank out of a muddy river bed. :freak: I love that emoticon

Congrats on getting your car running - but I'm not seeing a picture. Try uploading it to imageshack or similar. The picture host will have links that you can copy and paste into the forum.

Edit: I see your pic now and am jealous. Very nice, very clean. I'm glad - and sure you are too that it runs as good as it looks.

Great looking car! I'm glad you got it all fixed up, I think I would have used the "old" mechanic's body parts to repair the damage he caused... mad props on being patient despite it all. Your car will thank you for the hard work, just wait. :)

Alternator decided to go kaput. I hope I can make it back to the shop Monday without a tow truck. :freak:
