Clarkson does somehow fit into a Miata. And I thought those were a bit more cramped.

Hmmm...the miata should be easier, as it has no top. Never got into an Elise...so I don't know about it.
I wouldn't be concerned about legroom, as the 3 has plenty of it, but headroom is a different animal. Even if he did fit in the 3, I wouldn't want to go over a pothole, if I was him...

The 3 doesn't have that much legroom, its okay at best.

The miata is friggen tiny. Until you've sat in one you cannot comprehend. Add to it there is no tilt steering (at least on the 1st gens) then its even worse. Me and my biddy sat in one for fun.. He's 6'7 and I'm 6'4 and we looked not only retarded but felt super unsafe.

Actually, taking as an example a '95 miata and mx-3, both have exactly the same legroom, 1082mm.

I've had, so far, 2 MX-3s (a '92 and a '94) and, in both cases, being 5'10", if i put the seat all the way back, I could barely touch the pedals with my toes.

BTW: what's a biddy? :?

Yes, we are. The first generation Miata, "NA", went from '89 to '97.

You ever sat in a miata. I suppose the legroom could be the same as there is no rear seat.. But s--- there is no headroom and its super cramp in there. I dont think I could ever own one even if I was shorter, just feels unsafe. Maybe just as a lil race car or something.

Haha I am a dutch boy, thats why I am so tall. The GF? Well I lied, shes only 5'4 haha

No, I can't say I did. But I love the car.
My point is that, with the top down, headroom is not a problem. I'd think J.C. wouldn't be too comfortable in a car like the MX-3, because of the lack of headroom. Being that In the 3 I had about 2-3 inches headroom, I'd think you wouldn't be too happy either...

Hmmm...the last girl I dated was 5'10". Curiously enough, she's Belgian. Makes you wonder how do they prepare the food in those places... :?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go for a ride on my chihuahua...

I'm 5'10 and the MX-3 is the most comfortable thing I've ever driven... It fits me like a glove. I am not a fan of Miata's for comfort, not in the slightest... They're fun to drive, but I wouldn't dream of an endurance race in one. Not on your life...

I keep my knees a bit more bent than most people I know do for driving, but that's how I drive. :) I keep my seat fairly upright as well, as posture is very important to me, and it is by far the best view from the car that I can manage. I'll take a picture some time, to show you guys what I mean... It's hard to describe. Also, I've managed an easy 5 hour drive in that exact position stopping for only Gasoline and watering the shrubbery.

I'm 5'10 too and I drive exactly like you describe as well. I can't stand the gangsta-seat-fully-reclined pose. First of all, you'd be a slinky against the pedals in a crash, and second, you look like a moron, and third, you have no control of your vehicle, fourth, you can't see anything.

im 5'9" yeah its an inch shorter but i feal that the 3 is very comfortable and if you where to slide the seat all the way back you have plenty of room i myself have my seat about 3/4 way back and sit with a little bit of a lean id say instead of a 90* wich is straight up more of about 100* only cause i dont like my arms bent much while driving and my back is pretty messed up so its more for comfort i actually find it more comfortable in the mx3 the in my ford exploder and there was a time me and one of my friends sat in a viper i fealt cramped because of the head room i had enough but psycologically i fealt like if there was an accident id be dead

Well, like I said, I'm 5'10". I always drove in the "gangsta style" as you call it, not because I'm "gangsta", but because that's the most comfortable position for me. And I have to say, regardless of how I may look (which is something I don't give a damn about), I can see just fine, I have all the control I ever needed (and you have to drive in a city like Buenos Aires to fully understand how much control you may need on a car), and I was seating comfortably enough to make a 2500 mile round trip, stopping only for gas, and to sleep.

Just to give an idea of how much legroom the MX-3 has, I just googled the specs for the Millenia (which is known for being very comfortable), and it has only 18mm (little less than 3/4") more legroom than the 3.
