Alright.... last day before I go back to school tomorrow :( decided to do another project.

Some time ago, I bought CF radiator support from one of the members on here. Looks pretty cool, but I wasn't impressed with the quality.... very flimsy. It was in pretty decent shape, I had to polish it to get that nice shine back.

my stock radiator support taken off

heres the stock next to CF radiator support

making sure its fits

had to relocate this little part so that my hood prop doesn't dangle all over the place

drilled it out

Agreed. I like the idea, but without other red accents it'll look VERY out of place :D
Good job on the lights! I should get around to doing mine as well lol :D

Decided to do some work on the MX3 this weekend. Fidanza short throw shifter was next on my list. I also got some corksport bronzoil bushing to go with this project (that just made everything a little more difficult.

First removed the console

Removed the screw from underneath to realese the shifter

Stock shifter

Stock shifter vs fidanza. i also swapped the rubber thing from the bottom to protect the shifter from dirt and stuff
Image

Fidanza shifter with bronzoil bushings, had hard time getting it back together. When I compared, corksport bushing are a little wider then the stock plastic ones, so it was a very tight fit.

That spring was a pain the butt to put back in in... But it went in.
Image

I can definitely feel the difference, the throw is much shorter. However, it feels very tight, not sure if its due to the corksport bushing or me tightening everything too much... I haven't driven it yet... so should be fun.

I also got shift boot, and e-brake boot from redlinegoods.com. They are black alcantara with red alcantara stripe. Its pretty good quality but they messed up the shift boot a little. First of all the collar on the shift boot wasn't finished, and the stripe was facing the console instead of the driver. It will be a little more clear from the pictures.

Stock shift boot

Redline shift boot (with the stripe facing the wrong way, and unfinished collar)

Here I just used some crazy glue to finish off the collar on the shift boot. I just made a couple small cuts and wrapped it around the rubber thing that came off the stock shift boot.

The shift boot and e-brake boot in place

A couple of pictures of the whole interior

FYI if anyone is ordering the shift boots from them, tell the to make sure the collar is finished off, and if you do get a stripe, make sure its in both sides.

Dude nice call on the speakers. Those Kappas are absolutely excellent. :) And yes I had the same nightmare running 2 pairs through the plug/hose.

Actually we did so many things the same. Fidanza, Eibach springs, speakers, shifter..

Even our installs look the same:

great work on ur car, when i 1st changed to a short shifter it felt too tight as well, but you get used to it and now it just feels natural to me. When i drive other cars they feel kinda dodgy lol

Looking nice man! I am doing a full suede interior too... If you need any help with yours let me know. Look at my worklog to see the suede head liner. I will be doing the seats, and door inserts as well. :D

Hmm.. I just noticed from your pics, it looks like you attached the PCV high pressure line before the VAF. That means unmetered air is getting into your intake (past the throttle body), and worse, your VAF may be exposed to oil mist.

Might want to move it to the other side when you get a chance. :)

I just did that myself as I was sucking up oil into the intake and it destroyed my JE50. You can do that, by plugging everything except the PCV valve (left and right heads, plus intake) and it works great.

However keep in mind if you have any cracks in the head/gasket, it'll expose leaks because you on longer have a negative pressure. Mine started leaking after I did that. :(

I just ended up relocating the PCV line... thanks for the headsup nightfire

I do have a small problem with the intake though. I think its too big and the car runs too lean, and at low RPMs just stalls out on me :( Not really sure how to fix the problem.

That doesn't make sense. Intake is never too big. Just adjust idle screw. Its in the manuals.
