the only chevy's i've seen that were fast all ended in SS (excluding the corvette) and ofcourse if you buy a new car it is going to be more reliable than a used car (for the first couple of years although this isn't true in all cases i've seen some cars right off the bat be cruddy)

mx-3's tend to be very reliable if treated well. most guys on here have had no bad experiences with the cars. mazda engines in general tend to be long lasting. my dads 323 had over 280,000 miles and he sold it and it kept runnign great for a while after

For sure. Cavaliers blow, and are a pretty good comparison.
Au contrare, my MX3, which I bought for 600$, is one of the most satisfactory and reliable cars I have owned to date ^_^.

I'm not saying mx-3's are bad cars, I've seen tons that run awesome and are all beat up... however my mx-3 was a piece of crap! One problem then another and it sucks because its winter and i have no other car!

I've driven a 2.2L Malibu classic, it was freaking awesome! 0-60 in just 5-6 seconds(on a good day anyway)! This thing was crazy lol and whats funny is, it's my moms car! I would run most of the civics out like nothing, had problems with the vtec on some of them though... but this car is all stock. I'm not liking how it's automatic though :(

Malibu like the late 90's one? There is no way it does 0-60mph in 5 to 6 seconds. Sorry to burst your bubble...

Nope, a 2004. Sorry man but it does. I've tested this thing on the country area of Twin Falls. and it's only on a good day i said it can take 5-6 secs on a good day, 7-8 seconds most the time but if you use the lower gears just right you can do it. I'll take a video camera with me and leave it right by my needle with a timer and show you. :)

Ok here's the deal the curb weight of 2004 malibu is 3174 pounds the engine you said is a 2.2 which is rated at 145hp and 155 torque coupled to a 4spd AUTO. In the physical world we occupy this car is not capable of 5-6sec accelertation to 60MPH. Again i am sorry to tell you this but I am not going to argue with you about it because I have better things to do in life. You wanna prove it? You will be wasting your time and endagering yourself and other drivers while trying to make that video you are talking about. Do you know what kind of cars are capable of that acceleration? Very few!!! Just look it up The evo and sti are in the low territorry of that range, while cars like the NSX are in the high territory of that range.
Now go give your mom her keys back lol, you my young friend are done!

Go drive one yourself then you can tell me, if you haven't then you really have no say to tell me how fast this car really is. Its on the outskirts of Twin Falls where the speed limit is 55-60mph(depending on where you are at) on hwy93 its 60mph. You enter it by getting to a stop sign so thats where i would do it.

Speeding isn't safe, yeah i know but you can talk to anyone here, they street race at one point. I've done it, geez I've even been pulled over for racing a 3000gt but that doesn't mean i'm not going to do it again, I haven't done it in well... forever because i don't have a car now and my mazda had to many problems and i didn't want to mess anything up on it.

a better question would be who dogs out a 2004 malibu???? if u think thats fast u should try driving an astro van w/ that vortec v6!!!! 0-60 before u can get ur seat belts on! (and before someone jumps all over me i Am joking...its a freakin van)

Only if you are driving down a steep hill bud. I don't need to drive a car to tell you its not as fast as you claim, the car is stock so there is nothing that makes go faster then any other malibu, look up the 0-60 times on it and don't be so ignorant.

Ive had my 94 RS standard up to 220 kmph / 136 mph which was absolute max. It was on a downhill stretch on the highway, myself and one passenger.
