i got 18's already, but they look nowhere near as big as that!!!!

Does any1 know what mods will have to be done to fit in that extra inch???

I experct you would need an 1'' spacer on the rear, and maybe hammer out one of the bottom of the struts in the arch??

I would say don't do it. Go qwith something smaller, both for performance and looks.

BTW, I'm looking to put 24's on my mx3 with some hydrolics and mirror tint and also skate it out. How's that sound?

Actually, all you need is just a smaller sidewall tire, 195/30/19 would do it

do they even MAKE a 195/30?? Talk about rubber band.

Gro Harlem wrote:& theoretically you could fit up to a 24" rim on an mx3.

The stock wheel/tire combo diameter is 24.8" so if you can find a tire that only sticks out .8" on a 24" rim then get dem dubs y0.

Of course the smaller the tire's profile the ride degrades exponentially :( but this is just in theory.
Gro, the tire will only be able to "stick out" .4",
overall diameter - new rim diameter /2 = .4"
Bill.

Gro was talking about "stick out".
I assume that means the amount of tire protruding from the rim, or sidewall, thus his measurement of .8" is not right.
"overall diameter - new rim diameter /2 = .4"
let me decipher that for you.
overall diameter (or actually tire height when installed on a rim of original tire/rim)
- (minus, as in subtract)
new rim diameter (the new rim diameter, in this case a 24" rim)
/2 (divide by two)
= (equals)
.4" (the actual amount of tire that would protrude from the rim, or sidewall height)

Maybe we should go against the grain of the easier public understanding of diameter, and go with the more accurate measurement of radius.
In the above example the overall radius would be 12.4".

Does that explain it for you bmwm3guy.
It is simple math, and no formula in the universe will help you if you don't know how to use it.
If you need more explanation, just ask.
HTH, Bill.

I get it now, thanks. Eric is slow today, I forgot theres two sides to a tire.

can i say something the bigger the tire the smaller the rotor looks, i have 17's & think they make the rotor look smaller
