I use it almost every time I step out of the car. I love the thingy :-)
You all should touch it before you fill the tank with gas. The zap can ignite the gas. So why risk your precious by not touching this awesome button? :D

"Your precious?"

You mean your life, or your car?

I HIGHLY doubt that it could cause a gas fire.. Considering sometimes sparkplugs have a tough time igniting the fuel. And that is under compressed conditions. You'd need quite a bit more energy for that. Cigarettes on the otherhand are hot, and heat will ignite it easy.

I COULD be wrong, but I am pretty sure of this.

Highly unlikely - cigarettes just go out in petrol.

What you use to light a cigarette on the other hand.....

eh, i guess its an mx-3 thing.
my friends mx-6 doesnt have it, neither does my 323(bg)

well, if the "touch" thing actually works, why the hell have i seen so many mx-3's with grounding straps attatched to the back of their cars (aftermarket)

The guys at Mythbusters have tried the "spark at gas station" myth, and it was not busted.

If you get out of the car without touching the chassis, and then touch the handle of the gas hose it's quite likely that you can ignite the gas. If the gas/air mixture is right, that is.

All you need to do is run some 4 gauge wire directly from the negative battery terminal and attach it to your big toe.. Youll never be shocked again.. (By static anyway)

I don't have 'em :( apparently the Canadian 96 RS doesn't come with them. Not sure about any of the others. My old 92 had em, and they were a lifesaver

I decided to start using it! I'm starting to get shocked now when I don't. Kinda got used to it though I had a Sunfire till the motor blew for the second time and it would give me one hell of a jolt everytime I got out.
