Re: Low priced coileovers
ok i want to lower my car for an up coming show, and i dont have all that much cash at the moment to put into my ride, already spent way to much and anyway, i guess my question would be is it worth it to get the cheap coilovers ? or will lowering springs due the trick ? cause all i want to do is lower it about 2" or so maybe a little less

Re: Low priced coileovers
you'd have to go coilovers. there aren't any springs that lower an mx3 by 2" even if settled. id do the coilovers myself as well.
[ January 28, 2003: Message edited by: marshmallow15 ]

Re: Low priced coileovers
Whatever aftermarket springs you use they are likely to be stiffer than stock (they better be) and therefore need better shocks, and however you lower camber issue will be the same. In other words neither has any influence on the quality of the spring setup. BTW, if you really have no cash, cutting the springs works better than most people would have you believe. Both me and my brother have done it in the past. I did it on a VW and it worked great, cost 50 bux can. for the labour, improved handling looked better, ride was only worse on the biggest of bumps, had no camber problems and the struts never failed. My bro did it on his Honda, all good except for the camber but that's because of double wishbones those have. This time though I think I'm gonna do it right, I have to chage my struts anyway so i might as well gat all good stuff.
