A stand alone is gonna let you run alot more boost alot more safely than just getting a MSD BTM and an FMU.

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

the best way is to get DSM buddy he will teach u a lot of things about turbos.DSM's have been building best turbos in street cars since they were made. best bet is to swap most parts from some dsm car and do custom work urself buy blow off valves and stuff like that from net.
DSM owner

"protegeSts dude" i dont know who u think u are but dissing fellow mxs'ers isnt way we are going on this board ok? if you're tired sitting home getting angry go poke cops' tires but people like barry clark are very helpful and dont diss any people on here so dont u do that either. and DSM diamond star motors (mitsubishi) makes one of the finest stock turbos and even best aftermarket ones so i just said that people can use some parts and convert/fabricate them to mx-3, since no one makes worthy turbos for mx's

Jesse (protege sts),
Why do u insult people all the time on the board??? I mean u should be grateful that u r allowed to post on the ubb, I mean after all u drive a sedan(family car) not an mx-3. I don't have a problem with u posting as there is probabally no protege board sonce most people r not sedan enthusiasts. I have noticed u think that now u know how to install ford struts u know the works about a car. Don't try and hide behind coleman cause he's your pal, it just makes u look foolish. Coleman knows a hell of a lot about cars in terms of performance, where as u do not no too much. I have read some useful suspension posts from u and like i said i don't mean to be a prick, but u r getting very cocky so please straighten up.
I hope there r no hard feeliings
Louie

And no, im not *grateful* that I can post on a MX-3 board when im not an owner. I also post on multiple other boards. David invited me to join this board to cover suspension, which David hasnt commited the time that I have.
Next, what about the ZX2 struts? You dont think they fit? The 3rd gen Ford Escort chassis is a refinement of the 2nd gen Ford Escort chassis, which was designed by mazda and was used by Mazda in their BG chassis. The BG chassis cars are the Proteges and 323s. The EC chassis, MX-3 is basically a slightly widened BG chassis using all the same suspension mounts. The things that differ are just control arms.
The struts will interchange between the cars. If you have any issues with this, maybe you should talk to the numerous people who actually have MX-3 struts on their Protege or Protege struts on a MX-3.
I guess I'll go hide behind David now...later
