you cant put a pci card into a laptop,. they consume too much power, you can however get a Creative SoundBlaster Extigy <A HREF="http://www.soundblaster.com/products/extigy/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.soundblaster.com/products/extigy/</A> <P>I like the carputer, i can upgrade at will, use standard components, a carputer with my features could be quite expensive, and would require alot of USB ports and dangling things to lose and/or break, besides PCI is way faster than USB, and you only have 2 PCMCIA/CardBus slots. Upgrade RAM, CPU, Hard Drive, Optical Drives with ease, and dont hafta worry about buying overcharged propriatary hardware. And there nothing stopping be to turn it into a high-end gamming machine. If I were to run large and expensive hard disk drives in a car I would go for laptop drives due to their shock resistant design. Ghetto, Lol, Thx...<P>Its a start, the wires will definitely need to be organised, amp will be mounted to the back of the seat, a/c inverter not sure. the Suitcase PC will eventyally be redone to blend in with the car.<P>that LCD stand is only temporary, i rigged it up from parts of a hold store displY at work using a dremel and a drill in about 4 hours. My dad is talking to a friend that works with aluminum, be may help me in making a better and adjustable LCD stand.<P>Most of that i've done is a first attempt, prototyping if you will. You cant always do things perfect the first shot, especially when i've never done this before. Although i'm not the first person to do it, doing custom stuff that should theoretically work isnt easy. Mostly what i was looking for is functionality, than slowly, it'll be cleaned up. Plan is to hide the PC in the spare tire area, but only when i get a 2nd vehicle, but in the end, im confident that it will look good.<P>When building it, i was mostly worried about temperature, especially during summer and winter. Ironicly, if i would have waited a few hours to take those pics, there would be a foot of snow of the ground

I thought about your idea about hiding the LCD in your glove box, and I drew up a little sketch of an arm. np, i didnt take offence <P>i dont under stand on how it works, of where the lcd is. What i figure is that it will fold against the glove box, having a black back, it'll blend in quite good
