Now ya wanna talk about some dumbass with a type R badge,... There's a newer Ford Mustang GT here in town with the stoopid Type R badges right under the 5.0 tag. What kinda DORK do ya gotta be to do that? American Rice! lol
As far as my comment "ricer comunity", y'all know exactly who i'm talkin about. the idjits that pay $5,000 for a $500 part & think they got a good deal. The idjits that think The Fast & the Furious was the word of God. There are a whole slew of companies out there makin mass cash off silly *** kids with no sense.
To me, & thats just me i'm speakin for, ricers are the guys that have the same cookie cutter FX kits everyone else does, & buy into every dumb idea there is about free power, just change _____. Lets not forget all the stickers in the world too. It's all about the stickers!
[ May 02, 2003: Message edited by: Freq2002 ]

my idea of rice...and this is just my opinion...is ANYTHING that's put on the car that is not functional yet was intended to make the car fast. having stickers of items you don't have. unpainted body panels and body kit parts. aluminum/carbon fiber wings on fwd cars. i mean c'mon, you're trying to put rear d-force on a fwd car. now i know you need stability when you're up around 120-130mph in the 1/4mi but 9.9/10 people are still a 15sec+ car. hood scoops that aren't functional. lights all over the car...nozzle lights, valve stem lights, neons....etc. if a body kit doesn't compliment the car's design, then it too is rice. but the biggest thing about being a ricer is the ATTITUDE. racing his 105hp car like it's the best thing on the street. wearing his hat to the side pimping his ride trying to race anything and everything when you have cars in front of you. gets beat and comes up with excuses. does the infamous "ricer fly-by". the attitude is the worst part of all.
this is just my opinion so it isn't intended to offend any ricers on this board :D seriously though, i'm not attacking anyone here.

Nice one "Mr" Fowler. lol. I love the ricer fly-bys tho. Too funny. Hangin back 3-4 car lengths at the light, creepin up so they can cranck it just before the light changes & scream by like they actualy took off from a dead stop. Idjits! lol. There are a few that found out thats not impressive. Found that my big ugly american truck is damn quick off the line, something about a Vor-Tech big-block & low gears I think,...
Just love the looks I see in the rear-view when they get smoked by a truck that WAS at a dead stop. :D
To me, whenther you drive a ricer burner, or a corvette, if you dig cars for the CARS not the "image", you're cool with me. Image is for posers.

I am wondering by the time i am done with my car how many trannies i will have sent to the scrap pile.

That's the last thing you need to do to it. 1.56 is low enough for a rod ratio.
But tell me the NA 1.9L BP that TODA sells wouldn't be cool in a MX-3... :)
Cost efficient or not, NA motors are cool, to me at least...

I'd still like to see a set of Weber 40mm DCNF's on one of these with a 2.5" header blowin thru a glass pack & str8 out the back!
Strip all the b.s. electronic crap & go real old school. Adapt a centrifical advance dizzy for the ingnition & a HEI kit. Bore it, stroke it, machine the heads & ports till it screams. Open up the cooling & oil galleries. Drop in some monster cams from Toda & jet the carbs for top end. :D
But then I'm just a lil crazy too.
Speakin of engines in the back seat tho. yanno, lookin at the MX-3, you might be able to squeeze a small block chevy on a buick FWD transaxle in the back end. Tint the windows limo black & rig with a split duration cam. Nothin obvious from outside, sounds nice & tame when at idle, but once it start pullin up past 3,000,... Just gotta remeber to put in a new front end with BIIIIIG brakes. :p

Only thing I'm smokin is wanna-bes.
People do the same **** to VW's alla time. My race engine from my baja was a 1.8L screamer. Cam & carb tuned for mid range desert running, spent more time in the air than on the ground.
Have seem ppl jam a Hemi big block in the back seat of a bug. It's about ingenuity, not $$.
The plans for my car now include a mid engine 2.5L out of a Porsche with turbo & EFI.
I dont see why someone couldn't do the same with an MX3, it would actualy be easier to do with the way the body is built.
