So I didn't get around to getting the third link or the wideband installed last weekend so gonna give a go again in the morning gotta do a bit of welding on the exhaust and improve the wideband location cuz I'm thinking it is what caused the failure of the first wideband.

I really am trying to get everything, moving but I'm putting myself pretty deep in the red trying to get this megasquirt picked up.

So didn't get much done today. Got the old wideband torn out and the new innovate prepped and ready to install. Just need to find a half hour to install the new o2 bung and ill have that out of the way.

Question about vent visors...... Anything better to use instead of 3m double sided tape?

Where was your O2 sensor located, and where are you putting your new one? I have mine just after the final collector, and am wondering if it's too far from the engine.
I don't know of anything better than the 3M tape for the visors. Why are you looking for something else? I have had mine on my car for over 5 years, through heat, snow, LOTS of rain, wind, etc..

Actually pretty far back. Gonna move it forward slightly as well but when I install the new one it will be angled more at like 1-2 o'clock position, I think that's what caused the o2 failure in the first place.

I got pushed off of the road and into a giant pylon, my passenger side skirt was ripped off and tossed across the road and I swear the plastidip helped hold the thing together, it came off all in one piece. Love that s---.

Thx man I'm really happy with it looks wise.
Still got a lot of work to do those.

Finally got the timing set back to 10 degrees and reset the ecu, gonna give it a couple tanks to compare numbers a bit. Eventually ill advance it again.
I've started learning about megasquirt tuning and I've got a lot to soak in before I actually would consider installing it its gonna sit on the shelf till at least spring.

So shifty new years update. I've got coolant in my oil........
I thought this k8 was gonna go forever but I was wrong.
Now I need to find time to get back to the motor.

Only reason I found it was cuz I was checking my oil while my buddy refinished my headlights for me.

so here's the parts rundown as of this afternoon.

1. timing belt.- check
2. water pump- check
3. friction gear washer/ lock nut- check
4. oil pan- check

stuff i still need.
1. head gasket set( the victor reinz set has head, intake, valve cover gaskets and grommets, throttle body, egr and exhaust mani gaskets). only problem is its $300ish bucks.
2. timing belt pulleys, idlers and a tensioner. thats another few hundred.

could use a few suggestions or tips.....

i think i need a manifold to, i think the stock mx6 mani is gonna hit the brake booster.
what about lifters? should i try to service the originals?

i'm gonna have to get the tranny put together too. i've got a lot to do.............
