i would of gotten this for you a long time ago but i can't get the button off because it's square shaped so without cutting off the handle (won't slide off, at least not with my strength) i can't twist off the button

It does slip off with enough strength, I replaced my button with a chromey one from a protege.
getting it back on is way harder, you need to sit the cover in hot water to get it pliable enough. Its super cold out, thats the only reason I'm not doing this![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

yeah no dice, i realize that even if i got it off i'd have no way to measure the treads...unless i went to home depot and used they're measure board thing or something

if there was a car at the scrap yard. i grabbed a nut that is 5mm, 10-32 and 10-24
