i had a breaker bar and i was trying to break the strut mounts free and it just yanked it out.. blehhhonlytrueromeo wrote:How did you pull your axle? you must have really been yanking on your hub!
Back are easier to do, but harder to put back in. You won't need the spring compressor for them!. Feel free to use it when taking them off, but the new ones are low enough so u dont have to!

Okay. Well now that everything is back together! it rides alot nicer now. duh. My braking is different now though? I used to push my brake peddle down about 1/4 of the way and my brake power was there. now i have to press it about 3/4 of the way down before any braking power is noticed at all? and they squeak what the hellll? Should I bleed my brakes and see if that makes a difference?

Yea you should bleed your brakes for sure, probably some air in there.
As for the clunk, could be a balljoint or a bad strut.

It's not. But then, the affects of even a good one are debateable at best.

It seems like I noticed an improvement when I installed mine... or was it just in my head?

I agree with Wytbishop.Mooneggs wrote:It seems like I noticed an improvement when I installed mine... or was it just in my head?
If you installed stiffer shocks/springs to use your car for racing, you can, depending on the kind of racing you're doing, notice an improvement, as the chassis may start flexing under the increased stress.
But if you're using a stock suspension, strut bars are just extra weight.
Either way, at least in my opinion, even for racing strut bars are nothing but a half a$$ed solution. If you have flexing problems, some properly designed bracing would solve them much more efficiently.

WELL!! I had just installed my H&R's and a few days later Mooneggs called me up and sold me a front strut bar. and i couldn't believe how much it helped. it was a jerastic improvement. I let a few of my buddies drive it around and one of them just started bustin up laughing and went online and started looking for some for his golf.
No mark it was NOT all in your head.

Re: Mx3Kid's 93' Mx3 Project (Pics inside)
I know for a fact the front one worked amazingly, I also know on the RS the back one worked amazingly when I had it preloaded slightly. I now have the corksport ones, and they're both neutral. Even if the effects were minimal, they are not that expensive to achieve that minimal feel. I don't know what they do for times but the front definitely increased turn in response.
