Sure DOT has a lot silly rules that do not add up, but I doubt any cop on the street is familiar with the details of FVMSS108.<p>Hella 90/120mm progectors are sealed units, so they are weatherproof. If they are used in the pod that hopefully will be made the only thing that is exposed to the elements is the outside glass lens that covers the front of the projector. Curved lens is safely behind it. So, even if I mount a pair of 90mm projectors under my bumper they will be ok, just will look ugly. So if the pod hides the guts of them, we will wash our cars and the pods with the lenses sticking out of them just as ususal.<p>In the reference to cleaning projectors with dish soap and soft brushes and distilled water bath, discussion is about internal cleaning of the reflector, shield and curved lens. Hellas will come clean from the factory and sealed too, so unless you explode a bulb in there or take them apart and mess them up, there is no need for internal cleaning. Hope that clarifies.<p>Yes, I will try to visit a few junkyards and collect extra parts. Hopefully get a few sets of tru e-code HID equipment. Good for testing and playing. May be I can have Six HID projectors for my lights

I didn't understand if you'll develope that poly glass to be put in front of the projectors.
IMHO with that glass and a silver-polish housing those projectors would look really similar to modern headlights, and would look VERY cool.

not even close to the same... I think the best ideas have already been voiced which is the housing seen on the jap jap black mx-3, then a group buy for high quality hella lights, don't bother making a cover... that would ruin it. Wouldn't those gts clear covers work anyways if they did want them? That way if you want your halos you can go out and get them, or you could go with the group buy and get a very high quality product with a very reasonable price tag... LEAVE the housing as it is in the jap jap pic... just 2 lights each side. Incorporating a turn signal into it will just make it a bigger pain in the *** to wire, plus we already have a seperate turn signal.<p>[ May 04, 2003: Message edited by: quinn_seipp ]</p>

I really don't know why some people are fixed on integrating a turn signal into the light pod.<p>It takes so much away from the looks of it, plus, it leaves LESS room for projector lights making it even worse.<p>The stock signal is fine where it is and works great, plus it's unique from other cars.<p>~A

As far as a turn signal, we have been discussing putting in 2 LED's for turn signals between the headlights.

Well, if you're going to ruin the headlights by puting in a turn signal, at least put it off to the side, not in the middle.<p>~A

if it were possible to have a "knockout" or something that you could either have the turn signal or not would be the best idea if you were going to incorporate it. As it stands now peoples decisions on how they should look are split. This way you could please the people who have signals and the people who have the bodykits that dont have signal mounts. At any rate I'm sure the final housings are going to look great

i like the lights for the corolla. i dont like the jdm ones ofr our car. they dont look real attractive. unless we paint them, then theyll look a lot better because that black looks like ****....just my 2c. also, wiring the turn signals wouldnt be hard at all and it is kinda a good idea to go with two small lds(you can go with white i know those are legal in wisconsin so) and they wont be very noticable.....great idea if we have a body kit

Well, my opinion plain and simple is that a turn signal in the lights will ruin them no matter what.<p>So, that just my 2 cents, so don't be *****ing at me for that.<p>Why not ditch the turn signal idea and incorporate a city light? That would be far more practical as well as looking tonnes better.<p>~A

A side light is the best thing especially for guys & gals with body kits. All body kits don't have a hole to put our side markers. Plus, one have an option to put the turning signal or use the side marker to power the bulb. Use the 921 bulb housing (same as side marker). Regular wedge or LED bulb can be used. My 2cents.<p>later,
