heckdave thats why I said look for reproductions of those wheels. legit wheels always have copies made.

I personally think with that ride height those 18's look good

EDIT > how about a TSW SPA

or a Dezent

Yes. Home run! The TSW SPA is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks youdirtyfox.

Mooneggs, Thanks for the suggestion. I looked up the 4 x 100 wheels in general, and found a few that are almost as nice (but cheaper) than the TSW's.

These include MOMO Winter Pro and some style of American eagles that I found on Ebay.

Here are the near perfect TSW's, they are a bit pricey with shipping from the UK, though.

Here are the closer matches, about $300 less over all. I didn't look into the offsets yet, though, and I'm no expert there.

It's probably between the TSW's and the Eagles.

The Eagles look like they have a 38 mm offset, and I think that the stock MX-3 rims (and the TSW's) have a 45 mm offset.
If my Wikipedia research is correct, that means that the Eagles would stick out 7 mm more. Then if I go with 225's, it would stick out (and in) another 10 mm.
Just have to check if I have 1.7 cm to give and still stay inside the wheel wells, and also if the incorrect offset could possibly hurt anything.

An oil leak and PS pump may set me back, though. The car is in the shop getting D2 coilovers as expected,
but the power steering is going and a leak that I thought I had taken care of has reappeared.
