Swap another K8 in? or KLDE?
The K8 could be had for cheap, very cheap, if money is the deciding factor.

If you don't have time or money, your options are very limited.
Take it for a tune up drive, see if that helps. ($2 in gas?)
Try a can of sea foam. ($10)
.....thats about it?

My friend found someone with a bit more money who bought it and is planning to fix it up. Too bad it was out of her reach. At least her Nissan she bought with the money should last a year or so.

I bought this car. She's in good hands now, will never see a wrecker. I guess my plans are a 10w-30 oil change & spark plugs, & drive it until it dies, then swap in a junkyard klde.

When I bought my Mx-3, she was burning out and failed her e-test, at 10 years old and only 109'000kms on her!

when my rings failed in my b6... not pretty! it would poop black out of it's tailpipe and eat through 3quarts/200miles.

On the 626 she burnt about a liter of oil between oil changes, she was also getting up there in mileage (scraped her at 295'000km), I put in the Lucas oil additive and she stopped burning oil. Worth a shot, depends on how bad she's burning it.

There isn't any excessive smoke, I unfortuanately am going to be reselling this car. I can't hoard mx-3's- well at least not this one, it has a salvaged title
I will let you all know how she does after an oil change & new spark plugs.
