the face of the piston looks like "><". there not "screw in" as they arnt threaded but you spin them to push them in to replace pads. im not quite sure how it works but i know you dont need a clamp or anything special, just a set of needle nose pliers. im surprised you havnt noticed this Dan?

I will take a picture of the pistons and calipers with the screw mechanism.

I know i should be carefull with pliers, but the piston of the Millenia brakes stick out a bit further than the rubber seal reaches. This way even if the piston gets damaged there won't be an airleak.

That screw is how it gets all ratcheted together as the brakes wear.

If you abuse it though you can actually strip it.... (it turns but doesn't go in or out)

Ask me how I know.
