Awesome! I was having a little bit of a brain fart at that time. I ordered the gasket today; I just need to buy/borrow a torque wrench that will operate in inch/lbs. Does anyone have suggestions on places on the valve cover/gasket that need to have sealant applied to it? I want to make sure I cover all my bases. It's supposed to snow again tonight and I live in Texas, so that means I probably won't be picking up my parts tomorrow or possibly even the day after. Hopefully, The lower VCG will be replaced by Sunday. I'm going to have to be REALLY careful with the upper VCG where I have to remove the intake manifold. Frankly, I'm afraid to do it!
I did get some things accomplished today:
- Rebuilt my SRAI. Has much more throttle response, but it is close to the engine. I'll probably buy a curved 3" pipe in the next few days and turn it into a CAI.
- Priced catback exhaust from another source. I'm looking at about $150-$175 for all the 2.25" piping and hangars. On top of that, I have to pick a muffler: more money I have to spend (and I have no idea what I will end up spending) and I have no idea what kind I should get. Direct flow? Suggestions? I don't care if it's ricey sounding, as long as it is a good muffler and helps performance.
- Talking with a member about buying airbag/dash/wheel replacement. The biggest step in getting my car road worthy!
