i did the same thing in my mazda6. but took it a step further.

i laid down 200 SQ FT of fatmat sound deadener. then took expanding foam in a can, and filled all the voids in the chassis rails, the rear trunk areas. and then filled my A, B and C pillar with it also. (if you knock on a pillar, it sounds solid now). then i took poly fill and foam matt and used it to fill in any dead area behind any panels. i also used the expanding foam to fill in all my empty areas in the hatch itself.

Dope! Two questions..

1. Why did u do this in a mazda 6
2. How my did the foam fill help

the explanding foam made a major improvement. ive actually done that even to my winter beater now. the biggest difference is the hatch part. that thing was so crappy and thin. once i foamed it, now its just solid. the entire car sounds totally different now. i still plan on doing more to it in the future. but havent figured out my next step to do. the expanding foam is a big trick with the drift people also. it tightens up the suspension quite a bit instead of having all hollow frame rails and such

I was just reading on another forum, apparently one of the downsides on these types of material, is that in hot weather, the tar will run. You installed it in October, so we'll maybe see next year, but maybe that's something that will more likely happen in the hotter weather down south.

I can imagine that it might get a little peel-ey. Its pretty much an aluminum backed shingle (roll roofing). Which won't stick permanently to a vertical surface. May require additional fasteners for hot hot weather... we all know cars become ovens.

I'm waiting until warm weather testing has been conducted for this myself. If all goes well, I'll do it immediately! My main concern is maintenance, I don't want it in the wrong places.

in my opinion the tar may run in the extreme temps but if you think about it you have it behind panels and under carpet so i wouldnt think it should run to much if at all funny thing is my fiance works at lowes so this means dicounted price plus she can also further research this product as to how well it holds up to heat and anything else that could effect it

Theres is proof and vids on youtube that this product holds up in heat, just like dynamat would.

thats what i figured its pretty much the same thing just dont have the name so it dont cost a fortune

Anyways, yea, I see that Lowes are starting to come to Canada. Wonder if they carry this product now.
