must've been something like that. i've been through the car wash plenty of times, as i'm sure many others have. we're not the only cars with a glass hatch in the world either. if car washes were taking out our hatches on a regular basis, we'd have heard about it much sooner than now

Around here there are signs on car washes that say:

"If you have a rear wiper assembly, you MUST wrap it in a protective cover (they have them stationed at the car wash). If you do not follow these instructions, we are not liable for any damage to the assembly or rear of the car"

So I'm assuming it's to protect from what happened with your car...

If your stuck without a window for the time being, just invite some neighbour hood kids over to do a really fun jigsaw puzzle.
