Re: Ontario and Quebec mega meet

Post by MX3-4U2NV »

Well folks, when I initially wrote this post, I wasn't thinking about a one day thing.

I was thinking about convoying there in the AM on a Saturday, meeting somewhere between 10am and Noon. We have our big meet, all go to dinner, have a few drinks, party it up all night in a bar/hotel. Go back to the Hotel, stay the night, convoy home in the morning.

We do this to open the season, and we do it at the end.

well i know there is a fairly large mall at the top of princess street.. maybe we could steal one corner of the parkinglot and hold the meet there. unless anyone can think of a better spot... as for the bars, i know that stages is pretty decent, or the grizz is also decent... depends what kind of bar people are looking to go to.

I appreciate your input but malls are very impersonal. Anyway I belive your talking about the caterack mall. lol I was hoping for something a little more interesting like a camping site or park like setting. IMO

I have a close buddy that goes to RMC there and this is why I like the Kingston idea - I can hit 2 birds with one stone. I'll talk to him and maybe he's got some good ideas that can help us out/make things more interesting. I like how we have plenty of time to figure something out! :)

Well, we have a lot of movement right now, maybe we should continue to keep the momentum going, and get the majority of planning done now, to eliminate some stuff and guesswork later.

Maybe one Saturday morning, sometimes soon, I will take a trek to Kingston to check decent areas for the meet.

I agree with setting a date. But, that may also hinder on a location. If we wanted a nice park location, some parks aren't around then. Know what I mean?

Maybe after a trip to Kingston, looking around town, we can figure out a few options, vote here and what we would all like to do, then choose a date from there?

Well........if you guys are coming down........CALL me....

There is Lake Ontario Park also MacDonald Park...MacDonald Park is in the city...the Triumph Club usually holds there meet there once a year.........I thought of Centennial Park...see if I can get them to block it off for us..........that's right downtown..everyone can see our rides............
There is the Kingston Centre...we can park there..lots of traffic...........people can see our rides better than the Cataraqui Centre as it is too far out of town. I can see also about the Dupont beach..............I know people that work there..........

1. Lake Ontario Park - just outside the city
2. MacDonald Park - in the city across the street from the lake
3. Centennial Park - right downtown - can see if they could block a part off for us
4. Kingston Centre - uptown but by where there are alot of traffic for people to see us
5. DuPont Beach (well it was Dupont at one time) - I know people who work there
6. Cataraqui Centre - outside the city

Kingston has alot of great restaurants
Minos
Greek Isles
The Keg
Swiss Chalet
Harveys
Grecos
Copper Penny
etc.

Bars: Brandys
Stages
Grizzly Bear

I think it would be cool to have it in the city, especially if there's an audience :) Work your magic, Deb!

Finding a spot where we could enjoy a few brews at the end of the day and possibly pitch a tent. Or we could group book a cheap and seedy motel. One with the busted a*s vibrating beds. Something that would lead to an overnite stay.
