Don't use the negative battery connection, use the "grd" pin.

Keep the motor off, but turn the key to "on" position. Don't start the car.

Well, it allows air through that isn't controlled by the actual throttle butterfly...

Are you sure thats the code?

i am sure thats it... but usually the delay happens when i start out and at wot... couldnt the studdering at wot be attributed to the iscv not opening and keeping the engine from max air intake? does the valve even open at wot? because in theory, and i don't know the size of our TB's so bear with me, if our TB's are say 55mm and the valve opens at wot to pass air under the butterfly gate, and the valve doesn't open at wot, could the studdering be a lack of air being passed under the butterfly gate?

Possibly a vacuum leak at the Idle air valve? that would throw off the MAf readings...

the thing it that it started doing that after i messed with the vaf and although it's significantly better that it was, the problem remains. and the car ran fine before my vaf got messed with. i dont think it would have been a vacum leak because it had previously worked fine and it just seems too coincidential that the original cause got fixed and at that very second a vacum hose decides to crap out causing the same problem. unless the vaf problem i was working with caused a vacum leak? which hoses should i take a look at?

Where does it sit at idle? I like mine around 1k. Its a bit high, but doesn't rumble as easy...

I've noticed my BP is prone to rumble :? Then again, my old SOHC used to idle around 2.1k most of the time  maybe I just need to learn how to drive.

You can adjust the idle, there is a writeup. I'm too lazy to search for you.

its not even so much the idle really it idles at 1500 which is cool with me but when i let out the clutch where normally it would slowly accelerate to 5mph, it chokes and dies. P.S. i do know how to drive stick. but i'm forced to rev to about 2500 to get the car moving. i shouldn't have to do that. the car almost forces me to gun it
